Rubber production in India – An Overview

Rubber production in India this season (September 2010) has increased by 4.3% due to excessive rains and favorable natural conditions. The total rubber output this year is 77,500 tons, compared to 74,300 tonnes in September 2009. In addition to the rubber industry today India is one of the fastest growing industries. It has about 6,000 rubber manufacturing units. Through these 35.000 units of rubber types will produce different.

The rise of the automobile industry is a major factor contributing to this magnanimous growth. Looking from the perspective of the production of rubber tires, then we see that the production of tires has increased from 3.48 tons lakh (last year) to 3.75 lakh tonnes (this year). Also there has been a growth in Natural Rubber production and an increase of 7.6%. These are the main factors contributing to growth in rubber production.

This is the export of rubber products for countries as the United Arab Emirates, Germany, UK, USA and France. But as consumption of rubber products have reached their saturation point in Western countries more possibilities are explored in Asian countries for export.

The demand for rubber products can never disappear, because it has a number broad and diverse industries we serve. Aviation engineering, pharmaceuticals and railways, all use or other rubber products. Therefore always there is room for improvement.

There are basically two types of industries of India rubber, the latex used as a raw material and other rubber plates used for production of rubber products.

There are various natural resources and as man-made factors that aid in the intensification of rubber production in India. It has a rubber plantation area too, with increasing the local market to consume these products. There is also a large availability of raw materials and labor. Moreover the formation easily available in technical training institutes is leading to skilled workers who are assisting in the production and the growth of this sector. Also with the change lifestyle in common products manmade rubber as the principal claim to global growth.

Recently there has been an 8% growth in this sector on the one hand has given India an economic boost, while on the other hand, has given life to many homes. This is increasing and giving way to production machines rubber, rubber cutting machines and other industry-related tools and machines.
