China is the world’s largest consumer of Natural Rubber
It is understood that in 2003 China became the world’s largest consumer of natural rubber, but since 1998, natural rubber self-sufficiency rate is reduced year by year. In 2004, China’s natural rubber consumption is 180 million tons, the national output of only 57 million tons, self-sufficiency rate is less than 1 / 3. Affected by typhoons last year, rubber production in the main producing areas in Hainan Province declined, making the year of natural rubber self-sufficiency rate is less than 30%. According to internationally recognized boundaries, 30% of self-sufficiency rate is a national rubber industry, the most basic security line. At present, China rubber industry raw materials for more than half of natural rubber. Once the source of natural rubber is threatened, will make the domestic rubber industry as a whole at risk.
China’s natural rubber production in the first subject to the land factor.
